August Could Be 2018’s Jazz-iest Month

With the 4th annual Elkins Jazz Walk on Friday, August 3, the “soft opening” of the state-of-the-art music venue,  The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center on Saturday, August 4, and the free admission West Virginia Aviation Night at Charles Pointe festivities in Bridgeport on Sunday evening, August 5, the first weekend in August 2018 might go down in the history books as the three best consecutive nights of live jazz music ever offered in the North Central West Virginia region.

The rest of the month looks to be pretty jazzy also as Lynn Veronneau, the internationally acclaimed world music vocalist will perform with her trio in Bridgeport’s Mia Margherita Coal Fired Pizzeria’s private dining / music room.

And less than a week later on August 23 Mia Margherita Coal Fired Pizzeria will host the encore appearance of the Decon Blues band fresh from their debut at June’s Summer Jazz Stroll.

And the following night, August 24, it’s Cabaret Night In Clarksburg, featuring four different acts in three different venues, including Mark Cappellini’s Jazz Italiano.

The Friday Elkins Jazz Walk is produced by Elkins Main St. as one of their regularly scheduled “First Friday” promotions for downtown Elkins.  The Walk will feature four different bands in four different venues playing one-hour sets at 6:30pm, 8pm, and 9:30pm.  One ten dollar admission bracelet gets you into all the venues all night long.

More on Saturday and Sunday’s events later on.
