Announcement: WV Jazz Society To Go On Hiatus until 2021

The West Virginia Jazz Society is going into hibernation until Spring of 2021, or as soon as it is feasible to perform live music before a live audience.

This move into an inactive status does not mean we won’t be working on other things.  We plan to revamp our Internet presence with more emphasis on the website, less on Facebook and other social media.

We will be able to do some “what if” scheduling with the funding commitments we had in place when the pandemic lockdown began.  Those programming funds along with a jazz scholarship account we set up with assistance from guitarist Vince Lewis will give us the ability to hit the stage running when the pandemic lets up, or whenever audiences and artists feel comfortable getting together again.

Our extra-jazz economic development endeavor, Destination Weston, will continue as possible given the COVID-19 restrictions on meeting in person.  The focus of Destination Weston is to take advantage of the marketing and cultural development opportunity presenting itself with the impending completion of Corridor H (future I-48) connecting in Lewis County with Interstate 79.

So, check out the website periodically for any updates or meandering thought.  And use this email address to communicate with us:  You can also text to 304-517-9813, but email is more dependable and consistent.
